Respected Sir,
The company keeps asking for documents even though I’ve already submitted everything. Their latest request is for a completed KYC form (part of the claim form) and a self-declaration on the amount of tobacco I chew daily. I’ve submitted KYC twice already. Earlier, they asked for a doctor’s certificate about the cause of my current illness. Should I provide a self-declaration on tobacco chewing, considering the doctor’s question about its relation to my illness?

Under Indian law, health insurance policies are governed by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) regulations. You can challenge Mediassist’s decision by appealing their decision citing the policy’s wording, your premium payments, and the fact that the limit is per employee, not per child. You can also approach IRDAI or a consumer forum if your appeal fails.
