My wife and I are separated, and I give her cheques every month for our son’s expenses. She always cashes them. Recently, I lost my bag with some signed, blank cheques in it. I immediately told the bank, and they cancelled all the old cheques. I informed my wife, but she still tried to cash them, and they bounced because I was out of the country. Now, she’s filed a cheque bounce case against me. What can I do?

While a handwritten agreement with witnesses is a step in the right direction, it’s advisable to formalize the settlement with a registered agreement on stamped paper. This provides greater legal protection and enforceability in case of future disputes.
