My land in a village has a front facing the rural road. The government recently rebuilt this road, making it straight, and now my land doesn’t touch the road anymore. The new road was built on the other side of my neighbor’s land, and he’s claiming the land between the old road and the new one, which is around 15,000 square feet. My property value has dropped significantly. Is there any legal recourse or remedy for this situation?

Indian law allows for compensation when land is acquired for public purposes. If the government took land for the new road without proper compensation or legal process, you may have recourse under the Land Acquisition Act. You should consult a lawyer to understand your specific rights and options.
